There is a story where the Buddha holds an acorn between his thumb and index finger and says to his students, "What do you see?" His students reply, "Why, that's simple. You hold an acorn". The Buddha shakes his head and says, "No, no, my friends, what I hold is the potential of a thousand oak trees."
The trees here are beautiful. We have been traveling from Portland, through Minnesota, and now are in Indiana. We have been inspired by all sorts of trees as the landscape changes along our travels. I am reminded that our potential lies dormant within us-- and that the dreams we hold dear to our hearts are already manifest somewhere deep within.
What is your dream today? What is that you long to make real? What is stopping you?
Do you see an acorn? Or do you realize a thousand oak trees... waiting.
