And fun was had by ALL :)
And fun was had by ALL :)
Okay... tomorrow is the day! Rain or shine... and looks like RAIN wins! Mama Nature has blessed us with a big fat dose of KAPHA-mud and rain and wet and damp prevail... with lots of love and company. Huge RSVP... you coming? Be sure to look for these when you get there... I am COUNTING on a GREAT day tomorrow! OM!
Here is the sink for the mudroom... you'll have to come on Saturday to see it installed :) OM!
Our kitchen counters and inclusive sink have arrived. Now... to build the cabinets! WOO HOO!
The view below is the underside... not quite so pretty, but the counters are stainless, with a marine edge, built in drainboard, and continuous 10" deep sink, that is 32 inches wide! I am so excited to hide dishes in this sink ;)
And then there is the garden.... I got it in, and I figure what survives is meant to be a staple in my late summer diet. Otherwise, I'll just have to wait until the greenhouse is built this winter. Here is an example of my garden markers...
Here are the temporary stairs :)
My new office: Check this out! Sitting outside the porch while Larry and I muck through such code considerations on stairs as riser height, tread depth, nosing (do we need it?), how about a rail? Necessary?
I love my office :)
Here is the plan for the texture and basic color of our finished walls... a basic clay made of sand, barley straw, casein (milk protein), wheat paste, and EPK clay.... I can pigment it later with a milk protein if I am so inclined. At this point, "bone" colored walls sounds absolutely marvelous.
I believe it is time to start conversing with this house and let IT tell US when we are moving in.... Trust, trust. trust.
Counting down... SEVEN days and you get to see it! OM!!!
This view never ceases to amaze me... Thank you...
Hope you can join us ONE week from tomorrow... Saturday, the 23rd. Click on OMvitation on the upper right hand corner of the web site!
This is the entry to the creekside "outdoor living room" through that opening. It will take us out to nature... Check out the river that is flowing through the big ol' piece of walnut on the threshold.
Wowza! Here's our master "toilet closet". It'll be a good day when the honeypot people come to get their toilet from our land. Looking forward to the first flush!
Here I am sitting in our "meeting" yesterday afternoon. Looks like official move-in date will be pushed toward August. Breathing, trusting, knowing this amazing home will tell me when it is ready.... JUICY!
Here is our "invitation" for our party in less than 2 weeks. We hope you can join us--casual, tour of the natural building process blended with Vastu (yogic feng shui), held in the hand of mama earth, beautiful, natural, creek-side. Delicious. Simple living at its finest. Click on the OMvitation tab on the menu bar at the top!
Ahhh.... if this only had water in it :) Progress, progress, progress!
OM. There most certainly is a God. This morning we sign our closing papers for the sale of our floating home. We have 2 (I repeat 2) storage units, but that is down from two residences (AMEN to that!) I never thought I would be so grateful to be moving toward ONE place to "hang my hat".
It is most definitely a busy day.
Here is one of my babies goats... nine days old. Coming to live with us in 12 weeks. OM! (and her Auntie checking me out to make sure I am treating the new baby well!)
Next year at this time I will be milking her twice a day... oh, the life of a farm girl Yogini. LOVE IT!!!!
We are, amazingly, just under 3 weeks until guests arrive. It will be casual, joyful, and totally relaxing, I trust. I know the most important thing isn't whether the house looks "good" or not, but that the land embraces each who show up. This is the nature of Deva Daaru. Trusting is my work. (Ah heck... I will explain this photo another time :)
Here is Larry with our new sink! 10 inches deep, 32 inches wide, 17 inches front to back. I opted for a marine edge, burnished stainless steel sink that continues to counters, drainboard and the works... all in one, and we have a great local craftsman who does it all! Install coming soon... oh, and the kitchen faucet is making me drool. OM!!
The porch continues to be built... Whelan, our social activitist, student, and builder-buddy comes out when he gets a break from going to school. He is great and we love it when he can make it!!!
